Volunteering
The Venny has a range of skilled and unskilled volunteering roles at both our Kensington and Fitzroy sites. These include:
- Board members
- Policy and grant writing
- Gardening
- Program support
- Cooking
- Housekeeping
- Animal care

Student placements
We offer Social Work, Youth Work, Community Development, Teachers and Artists placements at The Venny. We provide students with the opportunity to apply the theory and skills they learn in the workplace whilst exposing students to a potential career in Playwork.
Our aim is to support students gain the skills they need to transition successfully from study to work. We hope the experience is enriching and contributes to work-ready graduates in the playwork, youth and community sectors.
Placement Students will support The Venny’s service offering which includes open play sessions after school, Saturdays and during school holidays as well as specialist evening programs during school term, outreach programs, events and other activities.
