The Venny is committed to protecting privacy and takes the responsibility of protecting and managing information seriously.
The Venny collects personal and health information when it is relevant and reasonably necessary for us to carry out our work. The personal information which we may collect includes, but is not limited to, the following types of information:
- personal details, including name, age, gender, date of birth;
- contact details, including home address, email address and telephone number; and
- information from which service users are identifiable or reasonably identifiable.
The Venny may take photographs as part of its regular activities. Service users are notified at the commencement of an event if photos will be taken and will be able to request to not have photos taken of them.
The Venny may collect sensitive or delicate information, which is a subset of personal information. For example, we may collect information about service users’, racial or ethnic identification. Sensitive information is collected when it will assist the Venny to provide a safe communal space for children. The Venny will obtain consent when collecting sensitive or delicate information in a manner that is consistent with Privacy Law.
The Venny may collect health information about service users, employees and Board members when it is needed to assist the Venny to do its work of providing a safe and communal space for children.
If The Venny wants to use personal or health information for another purpose, this will only happen with the person’s consent or if there is a legal requirement for The Venny to use the information for that other purpose.
The Venny only keeps personal and health information for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy. Personal and health information is destroyed or de-identified when it is no longer required by the Venny. The Venny will comply with Privacy Law obligations when it destroys or de-identifies the information we have collected.
The Venny takes reasonable steps to ensure that the personal and health information we hold is accurate and complete. If at any time you wish to access or update your personal information, you can do so by contacting our Chief Executive Officer.
